OpenPBX.org is very close in compatibility with Asterisk for now. One
thing to keep in mind, is that OpenPBX.org is case sensitive in the
config files, so e.g. in the extensions.conf you have to use NoOp(),
and not noop() nor NOOP(). There is a conversion script which can
convert your dial plan.

There will be an Xcode version of OpenPBX.org. But the basic idea is
to have the code base of OpenPBX.org common with all the other
platforms, like the various Linux distros, Sun Solaris, openBDS etc.

As a Mac user, I also want to have as much mac-like features as
possible. Therefore I am looking forward to have OS X plist config
files in a future release of the application with the new name. I am
developing an OS X Cocoa application that is managing the Asterisk
and OpenPBX via the manager interface. I have it working now, but am
waiting for the new namechange of the Mac version of OpenPBX.org, so
I can have a new name for my application close to this new name.

I have built it myself on both a MacBook Pro and intel Mini, and it
works fine.

Working on it.
