[Mac-telephony-list] What are the main issues with Asterisk on OSX ?

Music On Hold isn't officially supported on non-Linux systems. The
reason is that it requires a "timing source" which was originally a
Digium card (which has no Mac drivers) or can be a substitute dummy
driver (which is a Linux kernal patch.) Theoretically there are
several projects in the works to eliminate these issues. I run
Asterisk on 10.4 and find that music on hold works sporadically
(though it shouldn't work at all.) To me the real issue is meetme
conferencing which also requires a timing source.

I am a Mac consultant who does some Asterisk stuff (though for my
clients I mostly do it on Linux for the above reasons.) If you want to
contact me off-list, I might be able to help. It's edward at
