Hey guys

OpenPBX/Asterisk both work on OSX (Plain Tiger is fine)

The main problems are related around timing and a few other things that ends
up leaving a few things to be desired in Conference Bridges on system and
MusicOnHold.

As far as connecting to the PSTN your real options are a) Use a VoIP based
Service provider, or b) use a PSTN -> SIP gateway like a Cisco 2600 or Cisco
IAD2400 series box. These boxes allow you to connect T1s or POTS lines to
your system Via SIP.

Not too many people deploy asterisk/OpenPBX on OSX but it has been done.
(personally I do my asterisk development on my G4 PowerBook and have for
quite a while)

Once you have the core system set up, there are a stack of phones you can
use as long as they are SIP Compliant, Polycom SoundPoint IP series, Cisco
SIP phones, Linksys ATAs and SPA series phones, EyeBeam/X-Lite and several
others.
