Right--the one to my office has six nines reliability (so far), but  
only a DS1 of bandwidth.  Because it has limited bandwidth, I'd  
rather only use it for traffic from actual phones or a fax machine  
here, not for everyone who is dialed into a bridged conference--hence  
my desire to put the telephony server at the other end, which has  
upstream bandwidth to burn.

This is the same reason that XServe is running QuickTime Streaming  
Server--to do a live audio or video broadcast, I only have to send a  
single copy of the stream from my office to the XServe, which can  
then reflect that stream to hundreds of listeners or viewers.
