OpenPBX now builds and runs on MacOS X 10.4 (PowerPC), tests on Intel
Macs are still in progress.

For those of you who don't know, OpenPBX is a fork of Asterisk 1.2,
with a focus on reliability and cross-platformness. One of the first
work items was the replacement of all Zaptel hardware timing
dependencies with POSIX software timers. Unfortunately, the POSIX
realtime extensions are so far only available in Linux and NetBSD.
For platforms which do not (yet) support these POSIX extensions, a
generic software timer was introduced to OpenPBX this month and this
has now made it possible to build and run OpenPBX on MacOS X.

An RC2 release with the modifications needed for MacOS X will be
available within a few days.
