Hello folks!
I'm running asterisk on my mac - the 1.4.0 version by mezzo. Really
awesome, with cool modules like growl support, everything under the
Library folder, etc.
However, as Ben once said, it's a pain in the a** to use asterisk
under NAT. I mean, to get my PSTN working is no trouble with the
Sipura (though I'd like to know how to have 2 stage dialing - eg.
dialing the 0 on the FXS phone and get the PSTN dialtone, with
asterisk).
My main trouble is using FWD and Gizmo.
With FWD, I managed to call some numbers, but I can't receive a call.
With Gizmo, I managed to call the Echo test, but nothing else - it
even hangs my asterisk install when I do so, and also gets me lots of
noise on the line instead of calling.
I use nat and dynip, so can anyone in the same shoe give me a hint
about how to address these issues? I am confident that with Openpbx
NAT issues will be less severe, so I can't wait to use it. But,
please, don't forget those cool Growl Notify apps! :D After all,
that's what makes it fun to run these stuff on the Mac!
Cheers,
Francis
